Show Pa rowan Girls Head for State The girl's basketball team played regionals last week, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. The first round in a double elimiantion tournament, Parowan played North Sevier. Coach Bailey commented that the girls played well, especially in the second half, which; determined deter-mined who would win. Final score: Parowan 44, North Sevier 35. The next opponent was Enterprise, having beaten them three times previously before the tournament doesn't mean you can do it again, chances are high that you will, but it always doesn't happen. Coach Bailey commented that the team just did not play well. "We started out wrong! Lisa Stolk had four fouls on her ealry in the 2nd quarter, Anita Green had four fouls also. At half-time the score was tied, and at the end of the game we lost by two points, 47-49. We had a chance to tie the score at the very end of the game, but couldn't quite pull it through." In the third round, . Parowan had to play Beaver to see who would go to state. The girls played very well, commented Coach Laura Bailey. "If we would have played Enterprise as we played Beaver, we would have beaten Enterprise." Final score Parowan 62, Beaver 45. Parowan's overall record is 14-1. The State Tournament will beheld February 28, 29, March 1st at Snow College, Ephraim. The team's first round will play against Green River, a first place team. "If we win we will have another chance to try to beat Enterprise in the second round." |
