Show HURRICANE Mrs. Thomas Hinton Reporter Pvt. Roland Hall, son of Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Hall, is home on furlough fur-lough from Camp Wolters, Texas. He is enroute to Fort Ord, Calif. Pvt. Winston Gibson is home on furlough from Kingman Army Air base, Arizona. Alden Stratton is home on furlough fur-lough from Palmdale, Calif. Arthur Brown, who is employed on the railroad at Milford was home with his family for the holidays. Miss Loraine Brown is home from Los Angeles for an extended visit. Pvt. Rodney Burgess telephoned New Year's greetings from Camp Cook, Texas, to his wife, the former Elizabeth Lee. Mrs. Alvin Prater has returned from a ten day visit in Las Vegas with friends. Her husband, Cpl. Prater is in Germany. Mrs. Fenton Hirschi is home from Kingman, Arizona after having accompanied her husband part way on his return to Camp Bowie. Texas. Mrs. Nathanial Lemmon has taken the place of George Le-Baron Le-Baron as teacher of the fourth grade of Hurricane elementary school. Mr. LeBaron was called to Kingman on defense work. Mr. and Mrs. Madz Gibson of Boulder City; Brent Gibson and Miss Jennie Lamoreaux of Salt Lake City spent the week end here with Mr. and Mrs. George Gibson and other relatives. Mr. and Mrs. George Wood of Las Vegas were week end guests of Mrs. Ora Williams. They also visited with other relatives and friends. Miss Inez Gibson has gone to Salt Lake City where she will accept employment. Visiting with Mrs. Ora Williams over the week end was her daughter, daugh-ter, Miss Yvonne Williams, who has defense employment in Long Beach, Calif. Floyd Bradshaw, who is attending attend-ing the University of Utah, joined his parents here on Dec. 24 and went with them and other family : members to Las Vegas for the holiday week with Mr. and Mrs. : Arden Sampson and children. Mrs. Ashby Reeve, the former : Iva Gibson, visited friends and relatives in Las Vegas over the ; week end. ; Miss Dorothy Webb came from i Hill Field last week to spend two : days with her parents, Mr. and i Mrs. Glenn Webb. The Misses Emma and LaNita Hall spent the week end in Cedar i City with their brother, Arbon Hall and family. Visiting during the week with Dr. and Mrs. Clark Mclntyre and family were Mr. and Mrs. Donal Jolley and children of Boulder City. Mr. and Mrs. Alma Wright visited in San Diego over the holi days with their children. Orvil is with the U. S. Navy, Elva is on defense work and Anna is there with her. I Guests over Sunday of Mrs. Jack Williams, were her children, Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Englestead and family of Kanosh. They also visited other relatives and friends. AS Jack Leavitt is home on furlough from San Diego, Calif. His wife, the former Dorine Beatty joined him here and they are visiting in Mesquite, Nevada this week with relatives and friends. Miss Marylyn Thurston, daughter daugh-ter of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Thurston, Thurs-ton, who is attending the U. of U. at Salt Lake City, was home over the holiday vacation. Mr. and Mrs. Ellis Russell have been advised of the birth of twin sons to Mr. and Mrs. Laurel Russell, Rus-sell, Jan. 1, in Cedar City. Mr. and Mrs. Wm. E. Woodbury Wood-bury spent Jan. 1, in Cedar City with their son-in-law and daughter, daugh-ter, Mr. and Mrs. Reed Bradshaw and family. Mr. and Mrs. Hyrum Leany and family of St. George were dinner guests of Mrs. Leany's mother, Mrs. Josephine Fawcett, Jan. 1. Uniting for their fireside chat at the North ward chapel last Sunday evening, the M. I. A. groups of both wards heard Mrs. Howard Kleinman give an interesting inter-esting review of the book entitled "The Robe." J. M. Williams and family have returned from Seattle to make j their home indefinitely in Hurricane. Hurri-cane. His father, Jack Williams, of New Mexico was here over the holidays. Mr. and Mrs. Wilden Tweedie and children were home from Las Vegas over the holidays. |
