Show Former Dixieite Donates Two $200 Scholarships Wallace Macfarlane Pays Tribute To Home Institution Another former Dixiette, Wallace Macfarlane, has offered to establish estab-lish an annual scholarship for the Dixie college. President Glenn E. Snow received a letter to this effect last Friday. "It has long been in my mind to do some little act of kindness for my native land," writes Mr. Macfarlane. "The Dixie Junior College has more to do with the life of young men and women than most other institutions in Southern Utah. My desire is to establish a scholarship for two years, with a stipend of $200 annually. an-nually. This money would be given at the rate of $25 per month for eight months to the student who qualifies, a different student each year to get the scholarship." Mr. Macfarlane is immediately interested in a comprehensive farm plan for retired veterans of Southern Utah, particularly to clear and prepare virgin land in Washington county. Mr. Macfarlane expects to come to St. George some time this month to work out the details of the scholarship. He resides in South Pasadena, Calif.
