Show Miss Cecile Schmutz Weds Lieutenant Terry In Ceremony At New York City The Little 'Church Around the Corner, New York, was the setting set-ting chosen by Miss Cecile Schmutz and Lieut. D. M. Terry for their marriage, Friday, June 23. Miss Schmutz flew to New York from San Francisco, and Lieut. Terry flew from Brazil, where he has been stationed for an extended period with the U. S. Navy air force. For the ceremony the bride wore a street dress of blue with a boquet of white orchids and gardenias. The chapel alter, before be-fore which the couple stood was banked with white lilies and the chapel was lighted with eight huge candles. Witnessing the ceremony were a Navy friend of Lieut. Terry and the house photographer of the Waldorf Astoria. Since the relatives rela-tives of neither bride or groom could be present, the story of the marriage was made in pictures from the moment Lieut. Terry presented Miss Schmutz her boquet bo-quet at the hotel until they were seated for the wedding dinner at, the Waldorf. This will be presented pre-sented in book form to the families. fam-ilies. After six days in New York, the couple left for Rhode Island, where Lieut. Terry had two weeks special training. From there they left for a two weeks honeymoon at Pacona Mountains, Pennsylvania. Pennsyl-vania. Lieut. Terry will then return re-turn to his assignment and his bride will come west to Utah to visit relatives. A graduate nurse of the L D. S hospital, the bride has been employed em-ployed for 2V2 years as stewardess steward-ess with the United Airlines, resigning re-signing this position in San Francisco Fran-cisco for her marriage. She was chosen as "Queen Cecile" of the 1942 Covered Wagon Days celebration cele-bration in Salt Lake City, and is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Schmutz of New Harmony. Har-mony. Lieut Terry is from Fresno, Calif., and was a pilot with the United Airlines before entering military service. |
