Show SITUATION Associated Civic Clubs Will Take Matter Up with State Organization to Relieve Unemployment Un-employment in South Utah The present economic situation and a discussion of ways and means of relieving unemployment unemploy-ment in southern Utah were the principal matters taken up at the regular monthly meeting of the directors of the Associated Civic Clubs of Southern Utah at Cedar Ce-dar City last Saturday. The question of the creation of a national park in the Wayne Wonderland, was also brought up. Park service officials are now in that section, and it is probable that a park will be created cre-ated there. The inclusion of Cedar Ce-dar Breaks as a detached part of Zion national park was - also talked and favored. A luncheon for the directors was held in the Escalante hotel Saturday afternoon. Representatives Representa-tives from practically every county in the southern part of the state were present. I. E. Riddle was toastmaster and introduced in-troduced Mayor Walter Granger Gran-ger of Cedar City, Frank Mar-tines, Mar-tines, president of the Associated Associ-ated Civic Clubs, Dr. P. L. Kol-man, Kol-man, of Mt. Pleasant, a director; direc-tor; Ben Cameron, secretary of the club, and Senator George Jefferson. The election of officers and directors will be held at Manti on October 17. This will be the next regular meteing of the club. |
