Show SAM PUGH K.O:S GRANGER IN 2ND The feud between Sam Pugh of Kanab, a student at Dixie College, and Cyril Granger, of Mesquite, was settled once and for all last Thursday night when the latter was put away after thirty seconds of fighting in the second round of a scheduled four-jound four-jound bout. The contest was the main event on the Legion's monthly fight card. The outcome was apparent to those at the ringside even during the latter part of the first round. Granger with his rushing, ducking tactics, proved easy for Pugh. Time after time in the first frame he was straightened up with right uppercuts, and this was the start of his downfall. Results of the other bouts were as follows: Grant Brooks and Therol McArthur, Mc-Arthur, midgets, got a draw. Vcrl Kelsey of New Harmony won a decision from Walter Christian. Lewis Gerber and Mark Hopkins, Hop-kins, the old standbys, again fought a draw. These two will probably mix again Armistice day. Mog Warren of Spanish Fork knocked out Joe Littlefield of Ogden in the second round. Red Warren, twin brother of Mog, won from Williams on a decision. Warren injured his hand early in the fight, otherwise other-wise he could have put Williams away at any time. Cal Andrus won the decision over Brig Randall. This proved to be one of the feature bouts of the evening. |
