Show ST. GEORGE GEIS LEAGUE corauoN Annual Two Days Session Will Be Held Here, the Latter Part of September; Will Be Big Event for City St. George was unanimously selected as the 19 3 2 meeting place of the Utah state municipal munici-pal league last Saturday as the closing business to come before the convention of the organization organiza-tion at Provo. About two hundred hun-dred members of the league, their families, and visitors, were in attendance. One hundred fifty sat down at the annual banquet ban-quet Saturday. Getting the convention means that St. George will be host to two hundred or more members of the league and visitors for a two-day period within two weeks after the close of the American Legion state convention here next September. The latter event will bring one thousand or more visitors here. While no date was set for the league sessions, they will be held some time the latter lat-ter part of the month. The dates are left largely to the convenience conven-ience of local people. The only other city out for the 1932 meeting was Ogden and they withdrew before the voting started, giving St. George the honor by a unanimous vote. Mayor and Mrs. H. T. Atkin represented St. George. The latter lat-ter was selected one of the vice-presidents vice-presidents of the newly organized organ-ized women's auxiliary of the league. |
