Show AAUW Video conference to link 20 sites The Utah State Division of the American Association of University Women will take part in the nationwide nation-wide AAUW video conference on June 28 exploring family options in the face of economic crunches and technological developments affecting both workplace and the home. Emanating from the Association's San Francisco Convention, the two-hour two-hour program titled, "Tomorrow's HomeWork" will be relayed by Westar IV to KUED Channel 7 Studios at the University of Utah at 3 p.m. The studio audience will be linked by telephone to KQED-TV in San Francisco, Fran-cisco, where 200 convention registrants will gather. "We hope to have 100 people (AAUW members, invited business and community com-munity leaders and public at large) take part in this national discussion which will seek ways to resolve some of the issues confronted," said Bobbi Jones, video conference coordinator. In preparation for our part, tne mvi-sion mvi-sion members have been studying issues relating to work and the options available to the family. The interaction interac-tion of family work, technology, community com-munity and economics has been stressed. The video conference issues are in keeping with major AAUW emphasis of the past two years, according to Jones. They will be introduced in the video conference discussion by three pretaped mini-dramas in which men and women will attempt to deal with the economic crunch and the impact of the new technologies. In addition, the vignettes performed by the Incape Theatre Ensemble of Baltimore, will look ahead 30 years to assess consequences conse-quences of earlier decisions portrayed by the players. |
