Show Credit Women During the Vernal Credit Women's meeting, Wednesday of last week held at the Lamplighter Inn, members of C'WI became more familiar with the Consumer Advisory Council of the Federal Reserve board as explained by keynote speaker Codi White, Operations Opera-tions officer of the First Security Bank. He went on to explain the purposes and functions of the Federal Reserve Banks. He noted the Federal Reserve Bank is a central bank, which provides coin and currency for business. It manages money as money doesn't manage itself. Codi noted that not all banks belong to the Federal Reserve. He said in 1979 there were 19 billion coins handled while 9 billion pieces of currency went through. Also, food stamps totaling 2 billion items were handled for 20 million people. The Federal Reserve helps keep the economy healthy through monetary control, said Codi. Jay Curtis was the surprise "Boss" of the month. Mr. Curtis is with Wheeler Machinery. President Zona Larson, conducted the meeting. She introduced Grace Harris of Zions First National Bank as a new member and Melody Nalley of Utah Power and Light. Members approved Shanna Danills of American Savings as the new 2nd vice president to replace Lynda Anderson. Lynda is taking the summer sum-mer off from her work at Winward-Foley Winward-Foley Accounting Firm. Carmen Workman won the door prize. The Vernal City Women meet once a month.
