An ensuring motion was passed to grant Harrison's request. Rolene Smith, Redevelopment Agency Chairwoman, Chair-woman, made a motion that a formal letter be sent to Harrison, explaining the benefits of remaining in the area. This way, the agency will be covered at a future date when Harrison may realize he would have been better off to remain in the redevelopment area. The motion passed unanimously. Redevelopment Agency member Lawrence Kay said he was in favor of granting Harrison's request, because Harrison initially protested the development of the agency. However, he was the only landowner in the area who protested the adoption of the agency, and Kay did not believe the agency can allow people who showed no initial disagreement to be able to pull out whenever they choose. Kay said the redevelopment area will be good for everyone involved, and they will realize that in a few years. Until that time, the area must be kept together. In other matters before the Naples Redevelopment Agency, Dennis Judd's letter of resignation from the agency was accepted and the pending lawsuit by Uintah County over the adoption of the redevelopment agency agen-cy was discussed. Judd said his resignation was for personal reasons, and he still supports the redevelopment area. It was decided decid-ed by the redevelopment agency that each of the members of the agency should come to the next meeting prepared to discuss possible appointments appoint-ments to the position left vacant by Judd's resignation. Wednesday, June 15, was the deadline for a written response to the lawsuit by Uintah County. However, the attorney for Uintah County in this lawsuit, Larry Steele, is planning to amend the complaint, so the response will be held until after the amendment has been made. Mrs. Smith said this could take two to four weeks. Two attorneys will be working on the lawsuit for Naples. Kirk Bennett, a local attorney, has been subcontracted through Naples City Attorney Ray Nash. Bennett will do much of the research and local work on the case. The primary attorney, and the attorney at-torney who will represent Naples Redevelopment Agency in court, will be Jeff Thorn from Brigham City. He has been retained by the agency because of his expertise in this particular par-ticular area. Thornm has previously won two lawsuits involving redevelopment redevelop-ment areas. t -. . i y t l- ' v. - a : . - - :j : V-.,- - -v - , -. : - ' ' - -, i - , - , ; . . k. v v -J I ; " ' ' s . fl- -..v .
