Show Milk production declines slightly Utah's milk production during March 1983, totaled 94 million pounds, off 2 percent per-cent from March 1982, but increased 1 percent from March 1981, according to the Utah Crop and Livestock Reporting Service. Milk per cow, at 1,100 pounds, declined 1 percent from 1982 and 4 percent per-cent from 1981. Utah's milk cow herd, at 85,000 head, decreased 1 percent from the previous year, but remained 5 percent more than in 1981. Grain and other concentrates fed per milk cow was estimated at 14.7 pounds, down 5 percent from April 1, 1982 and ' April 1, 1981. Value per 100 pounds of concentrate con-centrate ration averaged $7.10 per hundredweight, hun-dredweight, down 2 percent from last year and 11 percent from two years ago. |
