NOW: Descendants of these animals of the Bible Bi-ble are now grazing again in their natural homeland, thanks to an ingathering effort ef-fort that began just 20 years ago. Their new home is the Hai-Bar (or Wildlife) Nature Reserve, a desert setting north of the Red Sea port of Eilat, Israel. Organizers of the effort ef-fort have traveled to many parts of the world to bring the animals back. Ostriches came from Ethiopa's Danakil Desert. The Nubian Ibex, mountain goats of the Ju-dean Ju-dean wilderness, were collected col-lected by Bedouin trackers. Other animals were flown from Africa, Europe, Asia and America. |
