Show Utes defeat Murray, 49-40 The Uintah High School girl cagers toppled the Spartans in Murray, Thursday, 49 to 40. Uintah has a 4-3 record in Region 7 and is in third place. Cyprus and Judge Memorial are tied for first place. The Utes have an overall record of &-8. Uintah and Murray were tied at 12-12 after one quarter and the Utes had a 23 to 20 lead at the end of the second quarter. The score at the end of the third quarter was: Uintah, 34 and Murray, 28. Uintah fired in 15 points in i44iiiS!4iSSili!'ii!: the fourth quarter and Murray put in 12 points. Darian Abegglen was the top Uintah scorer with 14 points on six field goals and two free throws. Also scoring points for Uintah were: Chris Mott, 8; Pennie Murray, 8; Lisa Jorgensen, 8; Rhonda Rhodes, 6; Jodene Merkley, 3 and Teresa Smith, 2. The Uintah junior varsity team was nipped by Murray, 37 to 36. Uintah had leads of 8 to 2. first quarter; 22 to 16, !:4SSliiSlSiil4iS:4iiiiAAi second quarter and 30 to 28, third quarter. Murray outscored Uintah, 9 to 6, in the fourth quarter. Murray was the high scorer for Uintah with 14 points and Heidi Green tossed in 12 points. Johnna Wiseman and Lynnette Merrell scored four points. Deah Bennion fired in two points. Uintah will battle Jordan on the road, Feb. 19 and will host Judge Memorial - Feb. 24. |
