Show 'Deena Millecam presents Beaux Arts program Clara Hall entertained the Beaux Arts Club last Wednesday at the home of her daughter, Margene Jolley, in Maeser. An interesting program was presented by Deena Millecam on the life of President Lyndon B. Johnson. It was taken from the books "Ruffles and Flourishes" by his press secretary, Liz Carpenter, and "Lyndon Johnson and the American Dream" bv Doris Kearns. Deena also displayed a book of photographs, "This America" by Lyndon B. Johnson. He served our country 32 years in prominent political positions. He was a senior majority leader in the Congress, vice president . under John F. Kennedy, and served 5 years as president. He instigated the war on poverty, the Head Start program, and the great society was his dream for America. The next meeting will be held Feb. 18 at the home of Glenda Landon. |
