'-5N' . f :- w ' rr': t - , - - " t-i ' , , '- - 4 CITY ENGINEERS and public worKs airecior, Robert Lashier, go over layout for new firing range. i Agencies unite to construct firing range Three law enforcement agencies, the National Guard and Wildlife Resources are combining efforts to construct a firing range at the bottom of the west slope of "U" Hill. The 3-acre plus range will be a practice area for Vernal City Police, National Guard, Utah Highway Patrol,, and the Uintah County Sheriff officers. It will feature areas for rifle, shotgun and pistol target practice. According to Robert T. Downard, the range will be open to supervised public use which may only require signing a pass. The range will be open by June 16 to accommodate the Utah Peace Officers Convention in Vernal. The National Guard is presently excavating the site and Vernal City engineers drew the plans. |
