Show School district conference Employees of the Uintah School District will enjoy a double shot of enthusiasm from two well-known speakers. Bishop Don J. Black will address-.the topic "Improving Student Standards" and Mrs. Doris Taggert will address the topic "Employee Positive Attitudes." Dr. Black is a well known lecturer and author of many published works. He is a distinguished speaker, adolescent authority, counselor and author. He is a man, who loves God, family and country. He is well known in our area for addressing "Know your Religion Series." Mrs. Taggert is one of the most sought-after speakers in the western United States. She is currently vice president of Zion's Bank and actively engaged in many community affairs. Her always candid and refreshing views stimulate her audiences everywhere. The Mid-Year Conference will be held at Vernal Jr. High School on Tuesday, Feb. 17. The program will begin promptly at 9 a.m. and the main session will conclude at 12 noon. The Uintah District cordially invites PTA membership, community groups, etc., to join with us. The balcony has been reserved for your participation. In addition, a special session for all young people will likewise be held with Dr. Black in the social studies room at Vernal Jr. High from 9 to 10 on that same day. All parents are encouraged to have their children attend this guest speaker's clinic designed especially for them. In addition to the two guest speakers, President Elouise Turner will welcome the group and Mr. Gary Taylor will present "Distinguished Board Service" awards. Mr. Stan Allen will present the "Employee of the Month" awards. The Reverend Howard Porter of the First Baptist Church will deliver the opening prayer and the Uintah Learning Center students will present the flag ceremony. Musical numbers will presented , by Jan King and Mr. and Mrs. Reed Hansen. |
