Show Vernal Bronc9 Leaguers win 2 out of 4 games Vernal's number one Bronco League all-star team won two and lost two in an area tournament in Lehi this past week. The Vernal team was nipped by Mueller Park of Bountiful, 5-4, on July 16. 1 The Vernal Bronco League baseballers had a 3-0 lead after five innings of action, but Mueller Park scored four runs on errors in the sixth inning to take a 4-3 lead. Both teams scored runs in the seventh inning to make the final score; Mueller Park. 5 and Vernal 4. Vernal got back on the winning track on July 17 when they edged Lehi's number two team, 9 to 8. The Vernal team was ahead most of the way and had a 9-6 lead going into the bottom of the seventh 'inning. The number one Vernal team picked ? up its second win in a row when they" clobbered Vernal's number two team. 15 to 2 on July 18. The win by Vernal knocked the Vernal number two team out of the tourney. Vernal's number two team was defeated by Lehi's number one team. 16 to fi, on July 17. Only four teams. Roosevelt. Vernal. Mueller Park and Lehi's number one team, were left in the tourney going into the fourth day of action on Thursday. Thur-sday. A fellow member of the Uintah Basin, Roosevelt, knocked Vernal out of the tournament due to a 3 to 1 victory. vic-tory. Thursday. Roosevelt scored one run in the top of the first inning and Vernal tied the game with one counter in the bottom half of the inning. However, Roosevelt went on to win the game 3 to 1 when they scored two runs on errors by Vernal.
