Show Cat show slated for August 10 The Uintah County 4-H and Youth Fair and Cat Show will be held Friday, August 10 at 9 a.m. in the Vernal Junior High School gymnasium Cats owned and groomed by 4-H and youth up to the age of 19 years may be entered. Cats are judged on their beauty and condition. Good condition means clean and healthy cats. For the protection of all cats entered, all cats are to be innoculated against Feline Distemper. Kittens should be at least four months old. Cats claws (both front and back) must be clipped prior to entry. To enter cats-bring cats or kittens to the Vernal Junior High School's northeast nor-theast door between 7 and 9 a.m. on a leash or in a carrier. The first 40 cats entered will be guaranteed a show cage. Late entries must provide their own cages. Entries will be accepted until 8:45 a.m. Cats will spend the day in a cage so a cage curtain must be brought to drape the sides and back of the cage and a covering for the bottom of the cage. Drapes are required to keep the cats comfortable and to prevent disturbances distur-bances between cats in a nearby cage. The small cage size is 21x21x21. Double cages are 21x42x21. Cages may be decorated around the theme of "Lazy. Hazy. Crazy Days of Cats." -There will be awards for best decorated single and double cages.
