Show Jensen Vera Snow Htione 789-0628 Boyd Snow injured in freak accident Boyd Snow, an employee of Coseka Resources, met with a terrible accident Saturday morning at Pine Springs location (Bookcliff area.) After turning the pressure valve down and not knowing there was ice behind the valve, he started to remove ice from the pressure hose. The hose, still carrying pressure, flew out of control and struck Boyd across the left eye. Fortunately his 10 year-old son, Greg, was with him and called for help through the use of the mobile phone in Boyd's work truck. Boyd, never unconscious un-conscious but unable to see, climbed into his truck, with Greg at the wheel and Aaron Wilkins the dispatcher in Vernal, directing, Greg, drove the truck some six miles to a Geokinetics location. From here men took Boyd and Greg to meet the summoned ambulance, am-bulance, after being treated at the Uintah Co. Hospital, Boyd was flown to Holy Cross Hospital in Salt Lake where his left eye was removed. He is recovering at uvzytw- . Mary Anne, and son, Greg, accompanied ac-companied him to Salt Lake. The children of the Boyd Snow's are being cared for by family members. The annual Christmas musical program will be presented Sunday evening, Dec. 23 at 6 p.m. in the Jensen Ward Chapel. The combined chorus under the leadership of Mrs. Stan Allen has been practicing for over six weeks. The program promises to be the 'highlight' of the Christmas services. A special invitation is given to everyone to attend. Tracy Haslem spent the weekend with his grandfather, Joe Haslem. Sunday they drove to Steamboat to visit with Ruth. Improvement is evident Tracy brought a load of sheep to fill orders in the Jensen area. Mrs Gary Snow took her daughter, Dana,' to Salt Lake City Saturday to have braces put on Dana s teeth. Mr and Mrs. Ward Murray motored to Salt Lake City Monday. Tamara Morril hosted a birthday narty for her daughter, Tammy, Dec. S Besides all the little k'ndergarten children three or four other small guests were present. Mr and Mrs. Wade Slaugh and Mr. and Mrs. Kelly Powell attended the family get-to-gether at the Hy Slaugh home Saturday night. All Hy and Bertha's children were there to spend the evening with their parents. Elder Scott Ruppe will return home from his Central American Mission Sat., Dec. 22, and will report his mission at sacrament meeting Dec. 30, 12 noon, at the Jensen Ward Chapel. Sunday morning Mr. and Mrs. George Turner and sons, Shaun and Shane, drove to Salt Lake City to visit Boyd Snow at Holy Cross Hospital. Mrs. Ross Snow and Boyd's daughter, Rebecca Anne, accompanied them. Greg Snow returned home with them that evening. Gary Snow went to Salt Lake City on business Monday. He visited Boyd at the hospital and returned that evening. A most beautiful sight on any of our exceptionally sunny Dec. days is the movement of large patches of mushy, choppy ice slowly moving down stream on Green River. Another sight worth noting are the unusually colorful sunsets. Noreen Allison was guest of honor at a birthday party for her at the home of Peggy Tolman, Dec. 17. Her kindergarten kin-dergarten classmates from Jensen made it a very special occasion. |
