The couple is at home in Rangely, Colorado. Nuptial Mass unites Lan hfo rd-Sm ith ey Tina Lankford of Vernal became the bride of Wayne Smithey of Rangely at a Nuptial Mass celebrated on November :!u Reverend I.iwrence Spellen officiated of-ficiated at the double-ring ceremony at Saint James Catholic Church. Linda Shimmm sang at the ceremony and Denny and Gale Davies did a reading on marriage and John and Linda Shimmin read from the scripture Parents of the couple are Ron and Hetty Lankford of Vernal and Ed and ' ('hamlet Smithey of Rangely. Guests attended from Wyoming; Denver and Rangely, Colorado. A reception was held in the Saint James Hall following the ceremony. The bride's sheer woven polyester dress, lined in acetate taffeta was designed with lace applique trim outlining the sweetheart neckline and extending down the front of the bodice. The long, full, sheer sleeves were gathered to wide cuffs with snap closures and applique trim. The skirt extended in gentle folds from an empire waistline to a chapel length train in back. Her long, sheer net veil was attached at-tached to a pearl trimmed headpiece of lace applique edged with lace. She carried a bouquet of red roses and white daisies with babies breath and tied with burgundy satin streamers. Matron of honor was Veronica Martin and bridesmaids were Kathy Smithey, Martha Lankford and Carol Smithey. Ring bearer was Ryan Oaks and flower girl was Melinda Bartels. The attendants at-tendants wore long pleated burgundy dresses and hats. Each carried a long stemmed red rose with baby breath. The bride's mother wore a long fuscia colored dress with coat and a carnation and rosebud corsage. The groom's mother chose a dark blue pantsuit with a white carnation, red rosebud and baby breath corsage. Jim L. Kohler was bestman and ushers were Wade Cox and Bryon Myers. The ha 11 w as decorated by the bride's mother and sisters in the bride's colors. Babetta Bartles was at the guest book; Carrol Granado. gift room; Steven and Jeff Beasley and Becky and Melinda Scott, gift bearers and serving and pouring were Maxine Mann and Bonnie Scott. The three tiered white cake was covered w ith w hite icing and decorated w ith burgundy roses and hearts. It was made by Denny Haugh, a friend of the family. A general shower had been held in Rangely and was hosted by Rose Smithey and Nancy Ahrens. The couple is at home in Rangely, Colorado. |
