Show Former resident dies of illness in New Mexico Funeral services for Eldon James Chivers, former resident of Vernal, were held Thursday, Dec. 13 in Bloom-field, Bloom-field, New Mexico. Chivers died at his home in Bloom-field Bloom-field Dec. 10 after a long illness. He was born in Vernal to James and Arlean Green Chivers and married Madge Toles Dec. 24, 1932. For the past 30 years he has been a resident of the San Juan Basin area and owner-operator of several restaurants, employed in the oil industry and manager of the Navajo Dam boat marina. He is survived by his wife, Madge, and three sons, Ferris and Bryce Chivers, Bloomfield, New Mexico and Scott, Guam. He is also survived by his mother, Arlean Chivers and sister, Lila Robins both of Vernal. He was buried in the Bloomfield Cemetery. Pallbearers were Rudy Harris, Har-ris, Ben Armenta, Ken Stringer, Woodrow Stiles, Cleatis Heron, and Aubrey Wilkinson. Bishop Harvey Johnson dedicated the grave. X 'v 1 V A u ELDON JAMES CHIVERS |
