Show V,' ..-V HELEN F. McKEACHNIE honored. District employee of the month Melon Flotohor MoKoaohnio was honored IVooiuIht 12 as "Employee of the Month" for the I'mtah School District for December. Mrs. McKeachnie was born in Ver nal, to Martin ami Bertha Fletcher. Slie pew up with a family of threo brothers and two sisters. She has lived most of her life w ithin one square mile of where she was born. When Mrs. McKeachnie was a school girl, sho did not ride on a nice warm bus to school. She. her older brother, Norman, and her friend. Barbara Calder. rode to school in a little w ooden, horse-drawn cart or sleigh that her father made. The sleigh had straw in it and her father would heat up big rocks to put in with them to keep their feet warm on their way to school. She also liked to ride a horse to school if the weather was good. Mrs. McKeachnie was educated in Vernal Schools and attended l lah State I'mversity. On March U. 1941. in Vernal. Mrs. McKeachnie married Colton McKeachnie They have lived and raised their family of four children, Gayle, Teddy. Lee Arm and Trent, on the family farm where many memories of working together and sharing times are found. Mrs. McKeachnie worked at l intah Packing Co. and for the l intah School District for many years first at Central Elementary School coming then to Ashley School. Mrs. McKeachnie's life has been one full of an enjoyment for hard work and giving of herself to others. She is a loved u'e. mother, grandmother, neighbor, and friend. She has worked as secretary of Lintah School District schools for 13 years. |
