CARLSON Services honor Kenneth Carlson Funeral services for Kenneth Kay Carlson were held Monday, Dec. 17 at 12 noon in the Uintah Stake Center under the direction of Bishop Brian O'Neil of the Vernal Third Ward. A family prayer was offered by Norman Merrill and prelude and postlude music was furnished by Joan Gray. "Oh My Father" was sung by Elaine Goodrich, Gladys Brady, Sally Hunsaker, Kathy Tucker, and Mary Chandler accompanied by Joan Gray. The invocation was by Charles Gentry, a life sketch by Johnny Rob-bins, Rob-bins, two vocal duets by Liz Sowards and Jan King, and the benediction by Greg Bishop honored the deceased. LaVar Carlson dedicated the grave in the Maeser Cemetery. Carlson died of a stroke Dec. 12 at the St. Marks Hospital in Salt Lake City. He was born May 4, 1943 in American Fork, Ut. to Ray F. and Donna Bar-nharb Bar-nharb Carlson. He worked for the State Road in Orem for eleven years. He was on the Reserve Police Force in Pleasant Grove, Ut. and was one of the first EMT's in Utah. He started the Emergency Medical Training (EMT) program in Vernal and was also engaged in the trucking business. He married Eva Mae Powell on July 24, 1974 in Rock Springs, Wyo. He is survived by his widow, four sons, three daughters; Shirlyn, Terry, Colette and Michael all of Vernal; Kenneth Ray Carlson of Orem; Valorie Davis, Vernal ; Calvin Davis, serving an LDS mission in Louisiana; parents from Salt Lake City; two grandfathers, Carl B. Carlson, Pleasant Grove; J.T. Barnharb, Lehi; a brother, and two !sisters, Sharell Carlson, Pleasant 1 Grove; Mrs. Larry (Dona Rae) Miller, Mountain Green; Mrs. Douglas (Judy) Crookston, West Jordon. |
