Show Sorority Members Met At Hospital Solarium Fourteen members of Alpha Rho Sorority met at the Solarium at the hospital Thursday evening, Sept. 23 for the educational part of the business meeting. This meeting at the hospital was the first of a two-part series on nursing chosen by Educational Director Bobbie Johnson. Each member had a turn taking the blood pressure of another member under the direction of member, and nurse, Lois Jamison. Members then journeyed to the home of Betty Dravage where the business meeting was conducted conduc-ted by President Yvonne Hawks. Volunteers to aid at the clinic for Swine Flu were requested by Public Health Nurse Hannah Pittman. One of the many philanthropic projects proj-ects of Alpha Rho is to organize and conduct two holiday parties for the children at the Sundwall Center. It was requested that the parties this year be for Halloween and Easter. These parties are financed personally by the members. Another philanthropic philanthr-opic project of Alpha Rho is to give financial aid to local residents who have experienced experienc-ed personal disaster. Five such Moab families were helped last year. A recycling or garage sale is planned for this Saturday, Oct. 2 at 9 a.m. at the home of Yvonne Hawks. Items for sale will include coats, other fall and winter clothing, ski and ice skating equipment and miscellaneous household items. it-ems. Monies received from this fund raising project will go toward other philanthropic projects of the unit. Chocolate and vanilla homemade home-made jce cream was served with cookies and punch or coffee by Betty Dravage and co-hostesses Bobbie Long and Yvonne Hawks. |
