Show ""Citizen of. the Year Sought By Chamber The Chamber of Commerce Tuesday announced its acceptance of nominations for its 3rd annual Citizen-of-the-Year award to be presented in november. Anyone, male or remale, whose mailing address is Moab, Utah, having lived here one year or more and of good moral character is eligible. However, as this is a Chamber project nominations must be made by or through a Chamber member. Citizen-of-the-Year chairman Slim Mabery announced to the Chamber Tuesday that recipient qualification guidelines are based on outstanding services to the community through business promotions, schools, churches, hospital, civic organizations, etc., services ser-vices to the youth, aged and handicapped, handicap-ped, and charitable and heroic acts,' deeds and services. Recipient does not need to be a member of the Chamber, he said. In passing out nomination forms, 1 Mabery stated that there are a good many : Moabites with several of the above qualifications who should be recognized. He urged that members give this matter some serious thought so that these people are not overlooked. Non-members of the Chamber can make their nominations through a Chamber member, he said. All nominations must be in writing, signed by the nominator and turned in to the Chamber office prior to October 15. |
