Show Candidate Vernon Romney Coming Here on Oct. 6th Republican candidate for Governor, Attorney General Vern Romney, will visit Moab on Wednesday, Oct. 6th from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. as part of a 25 city, 4 day campaign swing through central and southern Utah. Romney will travel in what is being called a "Campaign Care-A-Van," which will consist of several travel trailers and campers. According to the "Care-A-Van" organizer, organ-izer, Dixon Hindley, Romney is making this extensive tour because "he genuinely cares about people, and about their concerns and problems. That's why we've named this the "Campaign Care-A-Van." Romney stated that "I am making this vigorous campaign outing because I believe that it will give me a great opportunity to meet and talk with, and listen to, what you might term the average guy in the street. Accordingly, 1 have avoided scheduling any formal meetings this trip, choosing instead to spend my time knocking on doors." The Attorney General was elected in 1968 and re-elected in 1972. He attended Pomona College, Pasadena Jr. College, and Brigham Young University. He graduated from the University of Utah and George Washington Law School. He served in the infantry, U. S. Army, during World War II, on Leyte and Okinawa. He is married to the former Patricia Pingree. They have six children. V . . .i i Vernon Romney |
