Show lunch Hour is Exciting i For GCHS People! By Margaret McLain ; When the noon bell rings, the students of Grand County High School rush off school grounds. Most of the student body heads up-town for their ! afternoon lunch. Some of them j go on the bus to the Helen M. Knight Elementary school , cafeteria. A few of the hamburger places the students frequent are the Poor Boy Restaurant, Tastee Freeze, and the A&W Rootbeer stand. While interviewing inter-viewing some of the managers, mana-gers, I have found that the students give them a lot of business. Mr. and Mrs. Paul Dow are the managers of the Tastee Freeze Restaurant. Mr. Dow says that they have approximately approxi-mately 45 to 55 students come to eat during the lunch hour rush. At the same time Mr. Dow and his wife have gone back to Montrose. The new managers that have taken over are Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Wilson. Mr. Dow will be back occasionally to check on things. The managers of the Poor Boy Restaurant are Mr. Tony Lema and his wife, Mrs. Carolyn Lema. They feel that Poor Boy gets a lot of the school student business during the lunch hour also. They have approximately 55 to 75 students stu-dents eating at the Poor Boy during lunch. Carolyn Lema said, "The Poor Boy Restaurant Restau-rant gets pretty good business." busi-ness." Some of the students of GCHS go to their homes for lunch, but most of them eat out. About 12:30 most of the students have already eaten so they get in each others' cars and ride up and down Main Street trying to see whom they can find by yelling their heads off at each other. Then most of them return to the school to talk and return to their fifth period classes. The students of Grand County High School feel that their lunch hour is their favorite time of the whole day. But there are some that really enjoy school and all of their classes. Those who don't enjoy their classes seem to like lunch hour best and they feel that lunch hour is the only ' freedom they have because the school is stricter this year than last year. 1 i ) -.
