Show New forest grazing rules published Proposed grazing regulations regula-tions setting rules for grazing on National Forest Systems lands have been developed by the Forest Service, U.S. Department De-partment of Agriculture, and published in the Federal Register. Re-gister. The revised regulations, evolved over the past several months, with considerable public input, are designed to meet requirements of the Federal Land Policy and Management Man-agement Act of 1976. The proposed new rules govern the grazing permit system and grazing advisory boards. New sections also deal 7 with compensation for per-mittees' per-mittees' interest in authorizsd h permanent improvements and J the range betterment fund. Copies of the proposed reft re-ft gulations which appeared in the June 30, 1977 Federal Register are available for review at Forest Service Of-!f Of-!f fices throughout the Interim Inter-im mountain Region. f Hallie L. Cox, Director of Range Management for the & Intermountain Region. U.S. f. Forest Service, encouraged those interested to review the i new grazing regulations. He J noted that Forest officials are J in the process of scheduling informational meetings in sev-jj sev-jj eral locations throughout the ft Intermountain Region. These meetings will provide infor-l infor-l mation on the proposed regu lations and Forest Service officials will be availuble to discuss them. Meeting locations and times will be announced through the news media serving the local Forests. Individuals and organizations organiza-tions wishing to comment on the proposed regulations can do so by submitting their comments to the Chief, Forest Service (2200). P.O. Box 2417. Washington, D.C. 20013. written comments received by August 29. 1977. will be considered in formulating final fin-al regulations which will be published at a later date. |
