Show Accidents in city checked by police Moab police investigated several accidents in the city during the past week. On July 6 at 2:30 p.m. at the intersection of Main and 1st North, a 1969 Pontiac driven by Doris Hilliard struck the side of a 1969 Pontiac driven by Kathy Walston. Both drivers dri-vers reported the light had been in their favor, and since there were no witnesses, no citations were issued. There was $500 damage to the right side of the Walston vehicle and none to the other vehicle. On July 7 at 9 a.m. in the Peterson Ford lot a parked 1975 Ford belonging to Shell Oil Co. rolled backwards into two parked 1977 Fords belonging be-longing to Peterson Ford. On July 7 at 12:30 p.m. in the Walker Drug parking lot Karen Bundy, driving a 1973 Pontiac, backed into a 1972 Chevrolet driven by Randall Spencer. There was about $300 damage to the Chevrolet and about $20 damage to the Pontiac. Since the accident was on private property there were no citations issued. At 2:15 p.m. July 8 at the intersection of Main and 2nd North, Whitney Duane Barker, Bark-er, driving a 1974 Ford, ran into the back of a 1974 Dodge driven by Cynthia Johnscn, causing about $200 damage to the Dodge and about $600 damage to the Ford. Barker was cited for improper im-proper lookout, causing an accident. There was an accident at 401 CTiffvicw Drive at 7:15 p.m. July 7. Margaret McLain was driving a 1972 Ford Pinto stationwagon. She reached to the floor to pick up a tape, and the car veered to the right, running into a 1971 Ford van owned by Woody Woodward. The Pinto was totaled and there was about $300 damage to the van. Mike Stark, a passenger in the right front of the Pinto, suffered facial injuries. Several other passengers passen-gers suffered slight injuries. Ms. McLain was cited for improper lookout, causing an accident. On July 11 at 7:15 p.m. on Walnut Lane, Travis Garcia was backing a 1973 Dodge out of one of the trailer lanes and struck a 1976 Ford pickup driven by Veldon McKinnon. There was about $50 damage dam-age to the Dodge and about $500 damage to the pickup, and Garcia was cited for improper lookout, causing an accident. |
