Show Moabites Back From Talks With Army Engineers Ken McDougald and Don Hoffman returned from then-December then-December 8th meeting in Sacramento with additional encouragement for a "partnership "part-nership project" which has been proposed for construc tion ol the dam on Mill CreeK. The meeting with Colonel Donovan, District Engineer, Sacramento District, -Corps . of engineers and members of -his staff was arranged by Mr. Daniel F. Lawrence, director Utah Division of Water Resources. Re-sources. Also attending were Bob Morgan and Duane Klamm, engineers assigned to the project by Mr. Lawrence. Law-rence. Colonel Donovan assured Utah delegation that his office of-fice would work with them to obtain the flood cntrol benefits bene-fits portion of the funding for the dam from the U.S. Congress. Con-gress. The entire Utah Congressional Con-gressional delegation have al ready pieagea men suppuii. to the Corps of Engineers and to the officials of the Grand County Water Conservancy Con-servancy District. Mr. Lawrence indicated to Colonel Donovan that his office was prepared to move forward immediately with the preliminary design of the dam and intended to progress pro-gress as rapidly as possible on the project. |
