Show Chamber Will Now House Vestern Union .Moab Chamber of Commerce Com-merce president, Blaine M. Shields announced Tuesday that beginning on Jan. 1, th3 Chamber office would be headquarters for the Western Union Telegram Service for Moab. This service has been held by Midland Telephone Company for a number of years but has been given up and will be taken over by the Chamber. The Chamber has reserved the option to cancel the contract in 33 days if it does not appear to be working out. Mayor Winford Bunce announced an-nounced that the buildhig which will house the Chamber Cham-ber offices will be re-bid early ear-ly next year. The company which was low bidder on the project earlier this year was unable to obtain bonding to construct the building. In order to keep the cost of the structure within the $20,000 mark, he plans for construction of a basement in the building have been halted, along with the stairwell stair-well into the basement. It was also necessary to reduce cests of the carpeting to be used at the facility. |
