Receipts are Up, But Mail Flow Lighter , Although receipts for 1971 are up from last yaer at the Moab Post Office, mailing is generally lighter, according to E.' R. Carter, postmaster. Reason . for the drop in mailing is probably due to the rather large increase in postal rates since last year at this time, according to Carter. For 1971, receipts are now totaled at $101,550 compared with 90,306 for this same time last year. Total To-tal receipts for last year were $107,000 and if predictions predic-tions for this year are accurate, ac-curate, the" total should reach $115,000. At least 90 per cent of this increase, however, is attributed attri-buted to the postal rate increase. in-crease. The Post Office has only been counting cancellations cancella-tions during this week however how-ever for Dec. 13, there were 6,710, down from 7,517 icr the same Monday a year ago. In order to deliver all the parcels which are received at this time of year, the Pos- tal Service has borrowed a truck from, the Forest Service Ser-vice to aid in making deliveries. deliv-eries. . .
