Moab residents woke up to sunny skies on Tuesday as the storm moved on along its southeasterly trek. Storms hit Moab again tn Wednesday morning with as much as two inches falling in' some places in the valley. This, added to the six inches already on the ground, compounded com-pounded problems for the City Street Department which had not yet found means tj clear the roads of the snowfall snow-fall earlier in the week. Weather Wea-ther forecasts for this area indicated that the storm may not yet be passed and some forecasts stated that the weekend could bring even more snow. The storm which hit Moab did not bother Salt Lake City to any great degree, but the Utah capitol was hit on two successive days over the weekend, getting from four to eight inches of snow. Blanding reported 13 inches in-ches of snow on the ground Monday. The Monticello Higli-way Higli-way Patrol office reported eight to nine inches of new snow Tuesday. Roads in the Grand Junction Junc-tion area were reported as snowpacked and slick Monday, Mon-day, but clearing Tuesday. |
