Show Moab City Court Action Reported for Week A number of preliminary hearings and cases of DWI came to the attention of Moab Mo-ab City Court during this past week to bring a full court calendar. On Dec. 8, Art Manzan-arcs Manzan-arcs appeared on charges of DWI and failure to yield the right of way. He entered pleas to guilty to both charges char-ges and was sentenced to a line of $200 or 40 days in jail on the DWI charge and it or 7 days in jail on the failure to yield charge. A preliminary hearing for Veima Oliver was held on Dec. 8, on a charge of unlawful unlaw-ful sale of an alcoholic beverage. bev-erage. After hearing the evidence evi-dence presented, Judge Donald Don-ald Crist stated that there was sufficient evidence to allow al-low the case to be bound over to District Court on Jan. 17, for arraignment prior to a trial. Gary McLean and Larry Sheets appeared for preliminary prelim-inary hearing with their attorney, at-torney, Robert McRae of Salt Lake City. The two men were charged with illegal sale of narcotics. Following the hearing of evidence on Dec. 9, Judge Crist ruled that the men should be bound over to District Court for trial. Georgius Jasielski appeared on Dec. 9, on charges of illegal il-legal possession of marijuana and carrying a loaded firearm fire-arm in a vehicle. After entering en-tering a plea of guilty to both charges he was sentenced to 30 days in jail on the narcotics narcot-ics violation and 5 days in jail on the firearm charge. On Dec. 10, Joe Greg Tru-jillo Tru-jillo appeared on a charge of DWI and after pleading guilty was fined $200 or 40 days in jail. He was also charged with having an inspection in-spection sticker belonging to another vehicle and was fined fin-ed $35 or 7 days in jail after pleading guilty to this charge. On Dec. 13, he was again before the court, this time on a charge of driving during during revocation and was fined $175 or 35 days in jail. A preliminary hearing was held on Dec. 10, for James J. Bethel, Charles P. Grimm, and Scott D. Singer, all of whom had been charged with transporting narcotics, possession pos-session of narcotics for sale and possession of a narcotic drug. The men are from Michigan. Mi-chigan. After the evidence was presented, the defendants' defen-dants' attorney, Phil Hansen requested that the matter be continued until Jan. 14, before be-fore a decision was made. Judge Crist granted the continuance con-tinuance and the men will reappear for a decision on Jan. 14, at 2 p.m. All..- .. Sheldon Hostetler appeared appear-ed on Dec. 13, and entered a plea of guilty to a charge of driving during revocation. He was fined $150, however, ths fine was suspended for good cause shown. The fine of $150 for Robert Rob-ert P. Lavoto on a charge of driving during suspension was also suspended for good cause. A New Mexico man, Charles Charl-es A. Reeder appeared on a DWI charge on Dec. 13, and after entering a plea of guilty guil-ty was fined $200 or 40 days in jail. Jerry O. Day appeared and entered a plea of guilty tc a DWI charge on Dec. 14. He was fined $200. Marjorie E. Stamey of California appeared on Dec. 15, and entered a plea of innocent to a charge of DWI. She posted bail of $200. Her husband, Ralph Stamey of Ft. Carson, Colo., pleaded guilty to being drunk in an automobile and was fined $35. |
