Show Lighting Contest Deadline Saturday, Don't Miss This Chance to Join Deadline for entry in the Chamber of Commerce-Lions Club lighting contest is this Saturday, Dec. 18. Judging for the contest will be held on Dec. 20, by a combined committee of the Liens Club and Chamber of Commerce. Entries should be addressed address-ed to Dixie Barker, KURA Radio, Moab. Prizes will be given this year for individual individ-ual entries, business and church entries, and group entries. Mrs. Barker stated Wednesday that entries in the contest had been slow and it was hoped that more residents resi-dents would take time to send their name and address to enter the competition. No entries in group lighting have yet been received, Mrs. Bar. ker said. Those entries should include the boundaries of the neighborhood to be included in the judging. Business and church entries en-tries are also welcomed and those businesses and churches chur-ches which have taken time to decorate are urged to enter en-ter the contest with a donation dona-tion to be made to the winning win-ning church. Other events included in the Christmas promotion this year include later than -usual store hours this weekend and throughout next week until Christmas eve when businesses business-es will close at an early hour. Some businesses have also indicated that they will re- main open on Sunday afternoon after-noon to allow last minute shoppers a chance to choose gifts. Residents are also urged to attend the various programs pro-grams which are being pre-sented pre-sented in this area during the ! week ahead including a presentation pre-sentation of the "Nutcracker ; Suite" at Star Hall and a : Christmas music concert at Star Hall. The Nutcracker t will be presented on Dec. 21 and 22 and the concert will be held Thursday, Dec. 16. |
