Show Schools Suffer Enrollment Drop As Winter Sickness Hits Absenteeism in the schools in Moab this week has risen nearly 1 10 per cent over figures fig-ures which have been recorded re-corded during the early part of the school year, according to C. Robert Sundwall, Superintendent Sup-erintendent of Schools. Most of the 291 students who were absent un Wednesday Wednes-day were from Southeast Elementary El-ementary School where 120 were reported absent from class. The Junior High School recorded 7o students absent and the High School 4G. Lowes, Low-es, of the schools in absentees absen-tees was Helen M. Knight Elementary where only 35 students were reported mis-sing. mis-sing. This brings the total to 15.3 per cent of the total enrollment en-rollment absent on Wednesday. Wednes-day. This figure has remained remain-ed fairly constant throughout the week, Mr. Sundwall stated. stat-ed. Generally only 5 to 6 per cent are absent on any given day. . A local physician stated that most of the cases have been chest congestion accompanied accom-panied by high fever. This type of influenza strikes very suddenly, he said. Quite a number of cases of chicken pox were reported earlier this month, however, this appears to have slowed.
