In the I'nlted Statea where the organisation hae a unit the week of February to IS. The occasion will mark the eleventh elev-enth anniversary of scouting In this country. The celebration will begin Sunday with Services In practically all of the churches of the elty. Boy Scouts from all the troops of the Bait Lake council will attend the churches in their community In uniform. An ef-fort ef-fort will be made to. make one of the several features of the scout or canlxatlon part of the services In every church. HOME FOLKS' DAY. Home Folks' day will be celebrated Monday, when the fathers and mothers of the scouts will be the Rueata of each troop at a dinner. The food and the service at these functions func-tions throughout the city will be camp atyle and prepared and eerved by aoou'n. Tuesday will be observed aa scouting' birthday. Demonstra tlona by patrols of each troop will be given In the respective communities. Wednesday will be school day. Tha eoouts will attend school In uniform land. If possible, srrangementa will be made for one of the leading scout to repeat and explain the oath and laws of the organization In each e the schools In the city. Community day will be recognised Thursday. It will be the duty of every Scout to do a, community good turn that day. The entire membership of the Salt Lake council will gather at the beseret gymnasium for the annual Jamboree of the ScouU in this vicinity. A program of Scout events Is now In preparation for that occasion. NEW MEMBER DAY. Friday will be new member day. and the enlisting of new members will be the special endeavor of each troop , that dny. The annual meeting of the esecutfve committee and council will be held that day also. The meeting will be held at 11:1s p. m. In the Salt Lake Commercial club and it Is expected ex-pected about 109 persons, members of the executive committee and the chairmen chair-men of ail troop committees, will he present. A president, vice president, secretary and new executive committee commit-tee will be elected at the meeting. The celebration will close with the parade to be held Saturday. The parade pa-rade will start at the Hotel Utah and proceed south on Main street to Kourtii South and north on State street to South Tempi. |
