Feb. 2. -Pur-chsse of the Italian "blimp" airship air-ship R.itna. believed to be the largest larg-est semirigid alrcr-ift in the world, for approximately J, 00. 000. waa 'announced today by the war de-pnrtmt. de-pnrtmt. It probably would cost II !10 'ino tn rtitpll'-ate the ship, the statement s.-tid. The Roma is of l.JOO.DO cubic feet capacity, 410 feet long. 82 foet high, and equipped with six twelve-cylinder engines: of 400-horsepower 400-horsepower esch. It has an estimated es-timated speed of eighty miles an hour and a cruising radius at full speed of 800 miles and at cruiaing speed of 1000 miles. Major John O Thornell has been ordered to Italy with an air service detachment to bring the Roma to America.
