Show MONUMENT FUND INCREASED BY $200 More than 1200 to be added to the fund for the erection of a monument in memory of the handcart pioneers was realiz-d from the ball and musical given by the Logan branch of the Utah Handcart Pioneer society Monday night at Logan, according to Mrs. Lily C. Wolttenholme, president of the organization, organ-ization, who returned today from attending at-tending the affair. Mrs. Wolstcnholme sported the ball ; to have been one of the most successful success-ful of the many affairs given recently throughout the state to raise funds for the proposed monument. More than 300 people were in attendance. Many costumes cos-tumes were handed down from pioneer days In Utah, an effort having been made to depict the dresses of the handcart hand-cart pioneers In every detail, Mrs. Joseph Jones, 147S Edison street, a member of the Bait Lnke branch of the society, accompanied Mrs. Wolstenholme to Logan. She will return re-turn today. |
