Show WOOL MARKET UPTURN SEEN An upturn In the domestic wool market and a promise of general Improvement In western livestock conditions were foreseen Tuesday by James A. Hooper, secretary of the Utah Wool Growers' association associa-tion and manager of the Utah Wool Marketing association, on his re- turn from Chicago. Mr. Hooper, who attended directors' direc-tors' meetings of three national organizations, or-ganizations, said consumer demand Is greater In the livestock field and that wool prices now are approximately approxi-mately 33 per cent higher than at this time last year. Reporting that the Utah "Wool Marketing association moved approximately ap-proximately 50 per cent of the 1939 clip handled by the organization organiza-tion between September 25 and October 5, Mr. Hooper said much. of the remaining wool now Is be- : Ing moved at prices approximately as high. Last week, he said, the association moved fine wool in graded lines at the following prices: Fine clothing, 32 cents; bright fine, 37 cents; half clothing, 36 cents; bright half, 38 cents. In addition, a large accumulation of fine was moved at 34 S cents. The prices represent an improvement over recent sales, he said. |
