Show Texas Can Keep Maniac, Says Arizona's Governor PHOENIX, Ariz., Dec. 12 (UP) Governor Robert T. Jones of Arizona told Texas officials today they could keep Brino Hanks, maniac who escaped from the Arizona insane asylum, and "thus save Arizona taxpayers the $365 a year it costs to - : .... r i i ip 'keep a patient in the asylum. Hanks was captured last Sunday Sun-day night in El Paso, Texas, and was held for Ariaona officials. It as Indicated here, however, that no attempt would be made to return re-turn him. Jones said: "So far as I'm concerned, con-cerned, they can keep Hanks," called by hospital officials "the human skeleton." Hanks is 6 feet 3 Inches tall and weighs only SO pounds. "We don't want him back." said Jones, pestered by troubles at the asylum which were augmented by the escape twice of Winnie Ruth Judd. the trunk murderess, who Is still at large.' Governor Jones Indicated a shake-up In the personnel of the institution would be forthcoming. "Watch the payrolls for some changes." said Jones. "Just keep your eyes open and you'll see some smoke on the street in a few days." |
