Show CASH IN STATE -PURSE-CUT BY-S375.0000UTGO BY-S375.0000UTGO Prospect Held Bright for Surplus of Over Million Cash in the state coffers decreased nearly 1379,000 during November, but prospects are still bright for a better than 11,000,000 surplus next July, Budget Director E. R. Miles reported Thursday to Governor Henry H. Blood. The monthly statement showing condition of the general fund as of November 30 indicated a decrease in the cash balance from 12,042,-52S97 12,042,-52S97 as of October 31 to ll,M,-749. ll,M,-749. S3 at the end of November. "We expect a further substantial decline In the cash position at December De-cember 31," Mr. Miles reported, "but If our estimates are correct the ultimate cash balance at the end of this fiscal year will, of course, be the same as the surplus, or $1,240,-271.4T. $1,240,-271.4T. "The tax commission has recently stated that their estimate of inheritance inher-itance taxes for this fiscal year of $390,000 la probably high; however, we believe that there will be an Increase In-crease of other estimated general fund revenues that will offset any reduction in inheritance taxes." Of the $2,799,960 in estimated revenue for the year ending June 30. 1938, the balance still uncollected as of November 30 was $2,212,339 . |
