Show Writer Claims ! . 'Ad' Methods Objectionable By BETTY BLAIR From sardinea to soaps, everything every-thing today has its quota of advertising. adver-tising. Read what one woman thinks about It Dear Betty Blair: 1 have long felt that someone ', ought to f tart a campaign against the vulgar and unpleaaant way certain advertisers have of putting their product before the public. Aa a woman, I resent their continued contin-ued insults to womanhood. I re- aent their Indelicate humor (?) and their Implication that woman la dirty and full of terrible odors, and that they must buy this or , that in order to "get a man"! I resent the implication that women wo-men and girls are always running after tha men. It's a miserable, lowdown Idea to put before tha young women of America. They aee tha pictures (which seem ao vulgar to me) on almost every page of tha newapapera and maga-tinea maga-tinea and they gradually get tha -' Idea that this is tha accepted or-' or-' der of things in ths world today. What 'Ads' Teach i The "ali" are .teaching them that only man is clean and per-' per-' feet and that unlaaa they do everything auggested to them by ; theee none-too-fine advertisements advertise-ments they will end by aittlng ' home alone! , ', My experience In life haa taught me that moot women are clean " and dainty. Can wa aay tha earns f moat men? I used a highly advertised aoap for washing almost everything and I bought a great deal of It, but their "ads" have made ma ao disgusted with the product that I buy everything but that product prod-uct now and I find there are . . other soaps on tha market which era Just aa good. Others reel Same Way Of course. I am only ona and what I do doesn't matter much to a large concern, but there are thousands of women who feel aa I do about It and that tha "ads" should be cleaned up and made Z so that they do not offend any-. any-. ena. Can't these peopls aee that Z their methods are driving cua- tomera away from them Inatead of ! . JJte themT "MRS. B." , e IT Your letter la Interesting.
