OGDEII LIGHTING REQUESTDENIED State Highway Board Refuses Aid Mayor Herman Peery of Ogden sought unsuccessfully Fridsy to have the state road commission join Ogden in sponsoring a city street lighting program similar to that recently completed on South State street The road commission can assist In such lighting work only on federal fed-eral aid or major stats highways, E, C. Knowlton, chief engineer for the commission, explained to Mayor May-or Peery and Ogden Commissioner Fred Williams. "Salt Lake county financed a major ma-jor portion of the cost of the State street lighting project, and If Weber We-ber county will propose to assist in cost orlighting one of the major highways in that section the road commission will study the matter thoroughly," Mr. Knowlton said. "Ws cannot however, do anything to further this Ogden project"
