Show STRONG REBOUND IN WALL STREET Bulls Get in Work and Prices Are Boosted Accordmgly. , NEW YORK. Nov. 17. Opening prices in the stock market today, rebounded strongly from the closing depression of yesterday. Relief of acute anxiety over the Russian situation contributed to this result. American Smelting rose 2'i. to a record price. Kanawha and Michigan advanced ad-vanced V. Amalgamated Copper and ; the principal Pacittcs, Trunk lines and Metal industrials from a large fraction to a point. There was a decline of a point in Puciftc Mai!. The market was animated and broad. Market operations for a time showed the development of an excited bull speculation, specu-lation, large blocks of etocks being absorbed ab-sorbed in all quarters, and prices were steadily carried upwards. The position of the short Interest was aggravated by the general character of the rise and the evidence of powerful pool operations. Railroad stock were uniformly strong, but were secondary In point of activity and strength, and they did not. as a rule, go much beyond their first price. On the other hand, the various specialties Increased In-creased their gains largely, and constant accessions were made to this group of strong stocks.
