Wholesale receipts for the week are as follows: The C. S. Martin company, one car each of Turkish dates, Finnan Haddle, California apples, Jersey sweet potatoes, navel oranges and bananas, and two cars of Utah potatoes, California Cali-fornia grapes and strawberries, cocoa-nuts cocoa-nuts and pineapples; the W. M. Rash company; one car each of dates and figs, navel oranges, Jersey sweet potatoes, pota-toes, California sweet potatoes and bananas, two cars' each of Moab apples and Utah potatoes. California grapes and tomatoes, California and Utah vegetables, fish, oysters and poultry. I Retail, Prices. ( Retail prices are as follows: Apples are offered at 6c to 64c per pound, by the bushel they bring from $1.25 to $1.75. Lemons bring from 35c to 50c the dozen, oranges from 25c to 60c for the same amount, bananas are selling from 15c to 30c per dozen. Kiefer pears sell at 10c per pound, plums three pounds for 10c. Pressed figs are 5c to 15c per package, dates 20c per pound, pineapples 25c to 80c 'each, Tokay grapes 75c a basket, white grapes 65c a basket, with Black Prince at the same price. Cranberries at 15c a quart. Japanese persimmons are 20c a pound, and pomegranates are selling at the same price. In Salt Lake as a market and shipping center. Nearly twenty-five carloads of fruits, vegetables and fish were received during the week by the three leading wholesale dealers. This alone is not all . that 1s worthy of comment, as for the first time In the history of Salt Lake - an entire car of Turkish dates was received re-ceived by one firm, while the two other firms each received a mixed car of vdates and figs. The firm which received v the ear of dates also received a full car of Finnan Haddie, the first full car of this fish to be received In this city. One wholesale firm also received a ! straight car of smoked bloaters, another an-other first car of Its kind to be received in this city, all of which goe tc show the faith these dealers have In Salt Lake and its future, as a distributing center. At the present time the local stalls show a most tempting array of fruits, vegetables, fish and poultry.. Havel Oranges. California navel oranges are arriving in car lotd, the same being true of apples, ap-ples, bananas and sweet potatoes. California Cali-fornia grapes of excellent quality art still offered.,- Strawberries and tomatoes toma-toes continue to arrive, and though the demand is not large, some people will have them. Coeoanuts are plentiful and chickens bring from 40c to 50c each, broilers 224c a pound. Dressed hens bring 20c a pound, tame ducks the same. Wild ducks are scarce at 60c the pair for mallards. 30c a pair for teals, eggs are 30c to 35e the dozen; butter 35c to 40e the pound. Vegetable Market. But few changes are noted In the vegetable market: potatoes are selling at20c the peck, 75c per bushel; carrots, turnips and parsnips are each bringing 20c per peck; Utah lettlce. three bunches for 5c. the California kind two for 15c: parsley 5c the bunch: cabbage 5c the pound: Hubbard squash 15c to 25c each. the same price holds good on pumpkins; celery 5c to 13c a bunch; oyster plants 5c a bunch. There have been no changes in the prices of meats during the week. Boiling Boil-ing beef is quoted from 8"c to 10c: prime ribs. 15c; porterhouse. 20c; stewing stew-ing muttons, 7c to 9c; mutton chops. 10c to 15c: legs, 15c; lamb chops, 22c; veal, 2c to ISc; veal loaf, 20c; pork, 124 to 17V4c. Fish Market.
