Show PRESENTS HAVE LITTLE VALUE Miss Roosevelt May "Not Have to Pay Much Duly After All. WASHINGTON, Nov. 17.-Th rxamiua-tion rxamiua-tion and appraisement of the presents received re-ceived by Miss Alice Roosevelt during he-visit he-visit to the Orient has begun. The officials at the Georgetown custom house have begun be-gun to open up tlic t wcnty-si vrn boxes in which the presents were shipped and other oth-er souvenirs of the visit which resulted in a social conquest of the Far East by the President's daughter. Only about one-third of the boxes have so far been opened and Collector Nyman and hiK stHfT are said to he somewhat surprised, as the valuation of their contents con-tents will exceed sean ely a few thousand dollars. As the work of appraising Miss-Roosevelt's presents is In-big done along with the other work of the office, ii in doubtful doubt-ful if the last box will have leen examined exam-ined and the valuation lixd before next veek.
