Show UTAH COUNTY TO BE HOST TO ROBERT A. TAFT Utah county will play host to one of the top figures of the Republican Re-publican party on Friday, Oct. 25 when Senator Robert A. Taft of Ohio comes to Utah to speak in behalf of the GOP candidates for I office. Son of the late President William Wil-liam Howard Taft, young Bob is one of the most influential Republicans Repub-licans in the .present senate, and is prominently mentioned as a prospective presidential candidate in 1948. Throughout his eight years in the senate to which he was elected following several years of service in the Ohio legislature, he has been one of the most conspicuous con-spicuous and consistent opponents of New Deal policies in the national nation-al capital. He will arrive in Salt Lake the morning of Oct. 25 and after conferring con-ferring in Salt Lake with State Republican Vernon Romney and the various state candidates, he will motor to Provo where a luncheon lun-cheon will be followed by a public' rally at the Paramount theater. He will return to Salt Lake following fol-lowing this rally and after a series ser-ies of conferences throughout the late afternoon he will address a public rally at the Newhouse hotel starting at 8 p. m. His address will be broadcast from 8:30 to 9 p. m., ever KSL. Arrangements for Senator Taft's Provo visit ' are being made by George Collard, Utah county Republican Re-publican chairman. |
