Show DISABLED VET GETS AROUND Byron Jones, of Midvale, paralyzed para-lyzed from the hips down, has proved that disabled men can "get around" even if they are as he is. Jones, who since 1921 hasn't been able to move his legs, attends at-tends football and baseball games and any other event which he wants to see. And he's done it all by himself. Jones designed a wheel chair which he powered with a gaso-, line motor son after he became a cripple, and since then he's put in about 12,000 miles in the chair. Jones can travel at speeds up to 15 miles an hour, and can put in as much as 25 miles in a day. The ex-service man said today that he was willing to give the design de-sign to, or help design, chairs for every disabled veteran in Utah. |
