The average aver-age outside temperature in winter win-ter on a trans-Atlantic flight is 22 degrees F. below zero. On a flight from New York to Calcutta Cal-cutta at take off cargo may be subject to 40 degrees F., then for many hours while flying at 10,-000 10,-000 feet or higher, it may be subjected to 10 degrees F. and then return to the 40 degrees or higher several times during the flight. |
